The ride into Charlottesville was amazing! Lots and lots of hills and
beautiful scenery. The farmlands we biked through were breathtaking!
Although the uphills were just a little rough, the downhills were
exhilarating and well worth the small stuggle up. After we arrived in
Charlottesville, and had settled into our host site (sigma sigma sigma
sorority house) for the next couple days, we explored the town. It is
a very very pleasant, nice and beautiful town, home of UVA. We
actually have quite a few alumni of UVA on our team, and they were all
very excited about being back in their town. The next couple days here
will be spent building, relaxing and just hanging out together. Loving
every minute of this!!! Also I'm doing some things I never would even
have imagined doing, which is very good for me I think :) Love and
miss you all! Please comment, ask questions

Hi there, you are doing great! How many times do you have to shift riding up the hills? How are your leg muscles? Is it hot like here? 89 degrees today. Do you get enough to drink and eat? Where do you get your water?
ReplyDeleteI took grandma to put flowers on grandpa's grave this morning. She talked about you alot and to everyone she meets about your ride. We're all very proud of you. Have a good building day tomorrow! Stay safe and healthy! Love you!
Sounds like you are having a wonderful time! Bookmarked the page, will be looking forward to more updates!
ReplyDelete"Also I'm doing some things I never would even have imagined doing" Do I dare ask? Glad to hear you were okay with those hills today. Love you and miss you too!!
ReplyDeleteSo I went back to Mt. P today for Drew's orientation. It was exciting lol. I changed my first tire, saw all of the roommates (except Katie:( ), bought my internship book that I'm already 3 chapters behind in, and doled out advice to seriously confused parents as I was putting my rollar blades on outside of FEW...I may have snuck into Fresh Food to sit with my mom, but I didn't eat so it didn't count! Then I got Doozies for the last time before I go to NY. Less than two weeks left!!! Where is the time flying. When I went on B&B earlier today I couldn't find your trip journals. Is someone uploading them or should I just make up stories in my head of how the trip is going for everone who isn't like you and has not updated their blogs enough? The stories could get interesting! Still having troubles with the pictures and I don't have much spare time! It seems like we are relandscaping our entire house for Drew's grad party (not true, but it seems like it). Have a great second build day and a lovely first mail call. If my postcards don't make it, let me know so I'll send them earlier next time.
ReplyDeleteHi Kristen! It is great to read your blog and hear about your experiences. Thanks for keeping it updated. We were in Charlottesville years ago for a wedding and it is a beautiful area. Praying that you continue to do well-- you will feel different muscles from building vs biking!!! Take Care! Elsie
ReplyDeleteKristen! I must hear about all of these new things you are doing!!! Life is the normal grind for me right now, work, Oreo, work, Oreo lol but Elayna and I have started running everyday!!!! It's kicking my butt but we are already getting into shapre. We do 20-30 minutes of straight running and I can make it to Nelson park from our apartment in that time so far! Can't manage the stairs to my bedroom when I'm done running though :P LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU TONS!!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your new theme song for the week is How He Loves because I heard it on the radio and thoughtof you and it fits because you are building this week:)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your getting into "shapre" Summer! lol
