training I did back in MI in the wind. Woke up at 5am because it was
such a long ride, cleaned up the church after another overly generous
meal, and rode our bikes!
Not too long after lunch we biked by a ranch with chalk on the
pavement in front if it saying, "cute animals" chalk is such a great
tool! Anyways, we went down the driveway and proceded to meet, feedand
hold lots of animals! Camels, black bears, peacocks, water buffalo,
bison, deer, goats, monkeys, lemurs, donkeys and more! My favorites
were feeding and holding the three week old tigers, and holding the
two day old baby deer. Feeding black bears was cool to, and so were
the camels. It was great, we spent well over 2 hours there and were
late getting to the host church. This only meant we had to take hose
showers instead of regular and heat up our food in the microwave, it
was well worth the time. This ranch is a non profit that serves as a
rescue for many animals. In three weeks they are getting a liger! It
was great and I recommend it to anyone driving in the middle of
nowhere Indiana. Oh! And the baby llama named Twilight was super soft
and cute. I can't wait to show you all pictures of these awesome
animals!

Can't wait to see the pictures of all the cute animals, especially the baby tigers. Summer is going to be soooo jealous when she hears about this. Beautiful day today in Grand Haven. We have some big news happening today in West Michigan - President Obama is visiting! He is landing in Grand Rapids and then traveling to WMU to address the graduating class of Kalamazoo Central High School. They were 1 of 1000 high schools chosen for this honor. Hope the roads in Indiana are better than Ohio. Love you!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kristen - I finally figured out how to get onto your blog. I spent yesterday getting caught up. Can't wait to see your pictures. Sounds like you are experiencing many memorable opportunities. Keep having fun and continue with those opportunities even if they get you two hours behind - you will have the memories to show for it.
ReplyDeleteAs you can tell - blogger was giving me problems today. Sorry about all the multiples. Have a good ride to Terre Haute tomorrow!!
ReplyDeleteKristen,
ReplyDeleteI have written about 3 comments but they never show up, so I will try again a different way. We did not make this mail drop either but have some things to send your way. I will talk to your mom to see if she thinks we should send to the next drop or with them. It may be more fun to get spoiled next drop. We are all missing you. I will show her the blog about the animal tonight. Keep safe and continue to have fun!!!
Hi Kristen
ReplyDeleteI am also having trouble posting. I loved your story about the bike shop. did you ever think you would drool over a bike? If you can sometime tell us what a typical day on the road looks like. When do you start? How often do you get support from the sag wagon? Do you stop for lunch at a designated spot? What is your avg speed? How many people do you usually ride with? Your mother said to me, I dont know if you realize it but Kristen is loving bike and build. I said yea I get that from her blog. It seem like you are having a ball.God bless Tom D.B.
Hi Kristen! I probably will get into camp too late to set up my internet connection on Wed, so just in case I don't see your blog for a while I wanted to comment so you wouldn't think I had disappeared. I know how much you love having a stalker :) Have fun finishing up with Indiana tomorrow and Illinois by the end of the week! See ya in a while!
