Beloit, KS

Beloit, KS
Um, I'm having a little trouble remembering what exactly we did.
Kansas roads are great though, flat with rolling hills. On the road we
stopped in the small town of Glasco, KS for root beer floats and
milkshakes at the local small town soda fountain shop. Later when we
got into Beloit we stopped at Another soda fountain and I got a
chocolate malt on the way to the city pool. I got wet in the pool,
napped in the sun, and eventually showered and headed back to the
church for dinner. That night we went to watch Toy Story 3 in 3D which
was SO great!! Cell phone service was spotty though so I couldn't get
the phone call I was so looking forward to from my lifegroup girls!!! :(

  1. Hey Kristen!
I'm having a hard time remembering what I've done since my last post too! We had a social with the boy's camp on tuesday...pretty boring...we all crammed in Main house because it was raining outside, but I stayed out with some of my friends from waterfront and team sports. We talked and had fun. On Wednesday we had a big meeting with all the 8,9,and 10 year old counselors. I got to leave early to get the boats ready for inspection!!!!I was overjoyed :) The boats all passed inspection and all but one of our girls was able to pass the driving test. She is retesting soon so that she'll be able to drive this summer. We set up our bunks and since we are the younger age groups we also unpacked them! Wow they're stuff really does seem to multiply when you have to find places to put it!

  2. I don't on thursday we had time to unpack as well as arts and crafts time to get our bunk all spiffed up...i suck at a/c...really bad. We have a black stool that is supposed to have peace signs on it, but it kind of looks like a horror peace sign collection because the paint is all drippy and evil looking...even though it's neon pink. I don't know how i manage! The whole staff went to glens falls on thursday night which was really nice. I went to see toy story three which was awesome! I'm glad you got to see it too! Then i got laundry detergent and did my laundry at 2 in the morning while I was making final preparations for our room since I had to leave early in the morning.

  3. On Friday morning I left for Westchester because I GOT TO CHAPERONE A BUS!!! I was SUPER excited. I was put "in charge" on westchester bus #3 (don't quite know what sheri was thinking?) It took about four hours in the 15 passenger van with 10 people (very spaceous :)). We were dropped off at the crown plaza then the van left to get rid of the long island people. I went with Miranda, the waterfront director, and 3 other waterfront people as well as one team sports person. We went shopping at a very high class mall (I have pictures at Tiffany's and Louis Vitton)then went to the cheesecake factory for dinner. The food was really good (and payed for with the expense money they gave us :) )Then we went back to the hotel and watched a movie and slept. It was so nice to have a shower that I can fully extend my arms in and a toilet that I didn't have to plunge every 12 seconds :) In the morning I went to the bus stop at bloomingdales and waited for the girls. Our girls ( I was running the bus for 12-15 year olds) were pretty much as calm as could be expected. A few tears and a lot of screaming but nothing that Sarah, Maggie and I couldn't handle. The hardest part was that we couldn't tell them which bunk I have (11 with the Junior B's) because it is supposed to be a surprise. I was so happy because one of my old girls was on my bus and she ran up and jumped on me with a giant hug as soon as she saw me. It pretty much made it worth it to come back :)
