ride with Sharif, Emma and Mark throughout the ride today, 3 people I
have never rode with before and that was very nice, but Sharif
continues to make fun of my Michigan accent, which is extremely
evident when I say "Habitat for Humanity" (which I do a lot) and talk
about the "Aflak duck" Kelly sent me. Buy it's cool, I embrace my
accent. I ended the ride with Andy Mark and Emma, three very fast
riders who kindly slowed down enough to allow me to be a part of their
group. We stopped at two different bike shops and drooled over some
very nice bikes, Andy took some pictures. I held one bike that was
$11,500!!!! It was so light and nice! The roads were really rough and
busy coming into Cincinnati, biking in a big city that doesn't really
take care of their roads is quite an experience! On our way to the
Ymca to go swimming and shower!
The Y was wonderful and so was dinner! After dinner we had a big
cuddle session and nap and then went out to Salies Saloon for karyoke,
it was a great night filled with dancing, singing and laughter.
Ps I'm getting better at riding my bike without holding my handlebars,
but I still have to workbon picking my bike upsidedown over my head.

Kristen, hope you are having a good build day today in Cincinnati. I know how much you look forward to these "build" days. How is your foot doing, better we hope. Grand Haven had their graduation Thursday night, 392 graduates, and John received a much-deserved faculty award. The strawberries are finally ripe! Plan on some fresh strawberries when we come to visit you in St. Louis. What do you think your teammates would prefer, strawberry shortcake or the "yummy" strawberry dessert. Summer and Meaghan should be arriving here later tonight. They leave with the church group for Iowa tomorrow at 1:00. Can't wait to see you next week!! Love you!!
ReplyDeleteHey Kristen! I'm glad you got to ride with new people today. If Sharif mocks you on the accent just tell him that your accent is special enough to have its own webpage and his only has a wikipedia page.
ReplyDeleteI was at festival of the arts today in downtown GR and they had all these birdhouses!!! Made of books! I know I sent you a picture, but I didn't know if it was too small to see! They had "Are you my mother?" and "Go dog go!" and a dictionary and all these cute little books! And the perches on them were themed according to the books! The "Guide to northern birds" had a little sparrow perch and the "Alaska outdoorsman" book included at cutout in the shape of a deer! Just had to share a proper way of hurting books :)
