Clay Center, KS 40 miles
Short day, everyone was into town by 11:30 am, and then went to
Wendys! The gift card from Aunt Dianne came in handy, thanks!!! It was
good that we ended so early because by 2 pm it was 97 degrees in
town, plus humidity. I spent my free time calling family and friends,
journaling, exploring town and just relaxing. Dinner then bike
cleaning, more phone calling and lastly movie watching, Kansas has
been mostly flat and vast, lots of open empty fields and the ocational
cow herd staring at you from a hill. Love it!

  1. Good Morning Kristen
Just in from a walk and warm and humid already. More storms this morning and this afternoon. We're in a moderate risk area today. The electricity came on late afternoon yesterday so did get the wash and cleaning done. Not the ironing though. Donelle tells me no one irons anymore mom, so maybe I'll have to heed her advise and JUST WEAR IT!
Glad you had a short day in the heat yesterday! Not too bad today either unless there are hills and heat again. Keep up the good work. When I look at your pictures I still can't believe you are more than halfway across the USA. So VERY PROUD of YOU!
I plan to hit the mall this morning. What's a gal to do when there is severe weather looming? and then go see grandma. I started my Shutterfly Yosemite book last night so I'm sure I'll spend some hours on that too as long as we have electricity. Hope you have a good day! Love you!

  2. It was a joy to open your blog this morning and see that I missed a few days reading. Glad you enjoyed your day off followed by a short day. It's amazing through your hardships, you manage to find the beauty in all, though I suspect you realise it makes the day much more enjoyable if you focus on the positive than the negative. Keep up the hard work.

News from Mt. Pleasant, MI - George is in Canada all this week on vacation with his son. He is fishing, I am sure he is relaxing. Tony, I and many volunteers are holding down the fort. We had a great day in sales yesterday and this weekend should be busy as it is City Wide Garage Sales and we plan to put tables with items out by the road to entice people to turn into our parking lot - we will have our enormous yard sale in conjunction to the city wide sale.

Enjoy and be safe on your ride today!
